
ABOUT THE GROUP
Established in 1982, the Sons of Liberty has carved out a unique niche in Southern Gospel music by blending southern gospel, country, and bluegrass to create a rich, distinctive sound. The group's primary objectives are to win souls for Christ and uplift Christians. Over the years, the Sons of Liberty have released several songs that have received national radio recognition, including “In My Father's House,” “For His Glory,” “He’s Never Left Me,” "I'm Gonna Fight," and many others.
MEET THE SOL FAMILY

Jeff Childers
Tenor
Jeff has been a member of the Sons of Liberty since 1983. Initially joining as a baritone singer, he was soon promoted to tenor due to his impressive vocal range. He has had the privilege of ministering to thousands and cherishes every moment. Throughout his tenure, Jeff has recorded over 20 projects and was featured on the group's first song make the Singing News top 80 chart, “In My Father’s House,” which brought national recognition to the group. In addition to singing tenor and playing rhythm guitar, he manages the group's daily operations, including finances and bus maintenance. Jeff and his wife Deana reside in Stanton, KY, and they have one child, Jerrod.


Jerrod Childers, Lead
Since 2003, Jerrod has been a part of the Sons of Liberty. His father, Jeff Childers, was member of the group before Jerrod was born, allowing him to grow up alongside the members. At a young age, he began playing the banjo through an elementary school program called “The Wise Village Pickers and Singers,” performing with national artists like Ricky Skaggs and Rhonda Vincent. In his early teens, Jerrod was part of a bluegrass group named “Lil’ Bit of Blue,” which performed throughout Eastern and Central Kentucky. Now singing lead, he joined the group as their baritone singer. He has since taken on various roles, including playing piano, banjo, guitar and helping his dad with the business operations and bookings. Jerrod also owns a recording studio where he collaborates with various artists and also produces all of our recordings. You can learn more about the studio by clicking here. Jerrod and his wife, Bethany, reside in Clay City, KY, with their two children, Jayden and Presley.

Brandon Pelfrey
Baritone
Brandon joined the Sons of Liberty in 2026 as their baritone singer. He has been involved in Southern Gospel since he was 16 when he began traveling with the Heirs of Faith (later renamed On A Journey). In 2015 he joined the Townesmen Quartet from Middletown, Ohio as their tenor singer and piano player. He was with them for 11 years before joining the Sons of Liberty. Brandon also spent over 10 years as a Worship Pastor. He holds a music degree from Morehead State University and is an alumni of Kentucky Mountain Bible College. In addition to singing, Brandon maintains our social media, website and does the majority of our graphic designing. Brandon and his wife, Elesha, reside in Mount Sterling, KY, with their four children, Amber, Brayden, Cayson & Ellie.
